The need for speed was there once again 🙂 After my La Franqui sessions in February in medium wind I knew I was capable of going much faster still. Last weekend offered a perfect forecast for the best spot for Speedwindsurfing in Europe: La Franqui.
As the DWC in Grömitz finished with 9 races last weekend (review), I needed a couple days rest to get back my strength. By Wednesday however there was a nice NNE forecast for the Ijsselmeer. I wanted to give the sandbank to the SE of Kornwerderzand a try as I saw some 70km/h speeds being posted there.
Last weekend my regatta-season kicked off at Grömitz, and we were very lucky with the wind, as we finished 7 Formula-racings and 2 complete Slalom eliminations. Despite some Ups and Downs I managed to finish in 18th place overall out of 54 contenders.
